Melanin-Rich Skin (Types V & VI on the Fitzpatrick Scale)

Skin Type Fitzpatrick Scale Description
Sensitive / Fair I-II Very fair to light skin that burns easily and rarely tans. Highly reactive to UV exposure and environmental stressors; often experiences redness or irritation.
Balanced III-IV Light to medium olive or light brown tones that may burn with prolonged exposure but tan gradually. Moderate sensitivity to UV and environmental changes.
Melanin-Rich V-VI Medium brown to deep brown or ebony tones that rarely burn and tan easily. Naturally higher UV protection yet prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or uneven tone.
